Hello everyone.

The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.

For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.

If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.

And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

Hololens wont start apps

One of the Hololenses im working with is unable to launch any app. Windows boots normally and i can place tiles as usual but when looking at them i see the ZZ Symbol. When i click on them again the loading icon appears and after a short time frame it disappears again and the ZZ Symbol is shown. Only thing i can think of is a device reset. The problem is i cant start the settings app o.O

  • I also experienced the same thing a week ago and now another professor from different department experienced the same thing with his HoloLens. I didn't use the the tool, I performed the following steps to accomplish the same thing:
    (1) Open “Settings” from HoloLens Start Menu.
    (2) Click on “Update & Security
    (3) Click on “Recovery” from the left menu.
    (4) Click on “Reset device
    (5) Click on “Reset device” to confirm
    (6) Then follow steps shown in the prompt.
Just sharing in case someone else come cross this.
@Reeley Thank you for your post, it was very helpful to confirm the weird issue!
