Hello everyone.

The Mixed Reality Forums here are no longer being used or maintained.

There are a few other places we would like to direct you to for support, both from Microsoft and from the community.

The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.

For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.

If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.

And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

3rd person 'HoloCam' ?

In a lot of the Hololens Demo Videos, the Video itself is shot from a Video Camera that has been 'retrofitted' with a 'Hololens-like device' to allow it to 'view' what the Hololens wearing user is seeing, but, from a '3rd person' perspective. Is there a 'kit' for this type of 'HoloCam' already out there ? Instructions. links, etc ???

???

  • Thanks.

    There's no kit or instructions currently, and the rigs you see on stage are probably pretty expensive I would imagine. Great business opportunity for someone who knows his way around 3D rendering and hardware, though. :)

    Agreed. Assuming you're not looking for real-time, which is IMHO the real party piece of the camera rig we've seen on stage, this doesn't seem too difficult.

    There is a definite need. That tiny RGB camera just isn't going to be up to the task of producing footage suitable for marketing materials.

    @DeckTwelve ,

    Yep. Also been wondering if the Emulator is going to be enough for demos and training. I kind of feel you need to get a camera rig or else just put off on stage presentations about HL for a year.
