How do I get my Surface Pro to work again after trying Mixed Reality?

Yesterday got a new to me Surface Pro- 5th generation, with 7th gen i5. Plugged in my brand new Acer VR headset, It took some time, but it recognized everything; I started seeing things in the headset. Tried to turn up the volume and hot the power button on the Surface. When I turned it back on, unplugged and replugged in the headset, I could only get a blank green window to open for Mixed Reality. But then everything else on my Surface was unresponsive- th Windows button turned green and won't do anything when I click on it and the Cortana won't open. Nothing on my desktop will open. Disconnected everything, restarted the Surface multiple times, the only thing that's changed is there is no Mixed Reality screen open, but the Windows icon is still green. Mixed Reality is not running, but it seems to have left this residual curse for trying to use it.
