When you are running Skype, the holograms you placed in your world using the Holograms apps as well as other windows or 2D apps you might have placed will not be visible (just like any other app).
For your friends to annotate your world, they need to use the "edit scene" button at the top of the video window in their Skype app. This will freeze the frame and they will be able to "work" on that surface.

@DocStrange I believe it requires the Skype for Windows desktop app, and does not currently work in the Skype Preview (haven't tried myself). It will prompt you to download the Hololens Addin for skype once you make a call:

Is there a way to draw using the non-Holographic Skype? I was connected with a colleague but using Skype Preview, there was no way I could see to share photos or draw on the screen. The 2015 Build demo seemed to show one person on regular Skype (his face showing in the HoloLens Skype window) and drawing on some pipes. Is this possible or just conceptual?

@thebanjomatic That was the missing piece. I've installed the 'old' Skype and will try another call today. I couldn't find any information about when the plugin would be available for Skype Preview, but this will work now for what we need to demonstrate. Thanks!
