Pairing with a smart phone.

Hello,

Thanks for letting me ask a quetsion.
I read from the developer's page that bluetooth pairing with a phone is impossible. Is this correct?
https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/holographic/working_with_accessories

However, in the same page it says
'Microsoft HoloLens includes a Bluetooth 4.1 radio and supports Bluetooth HID and Bluetooth GATT profiles.'

So does a phone with BT HID or GATT profile be paired or not?

Thank you for your answer and help.
I am trying to get real-time accelerometer data from a smartphone through bluetooth. Thank you,

  • I can pair my Windows phone with my HoloLens device, but it doesn't seem to do anything useful...maybe you have the know how to make the pairing useful.

I tried pairing to an external bluetooth speaker and ps3 controller with no success. Both apparently satisfied the requirements of the HID and GATT profiles (cannot recall which was what though as it was awhile back).

Perhaps it is the Bluetooth 4.1 radio feature that is throwing the connectivity off?

  • I've got my HoloLens paired with my Pixel but still nothing as a result - file transfer, phone calls (in or out), audio. Looks like an opportunity!
