Hello everyone.

We have decided to phase out the Mixed Reality Forums over the next few months in favor of other ways to connect with us.

The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.

The plan between now and the beginning of May is to clean up old, unanswered questions that are no longer relevant. The forums will remain open and usable.

On May 1st we will be locking the forums to new posts and replies. They will remain available for another three months for the purposes of searching them, and then they will be closed altogether on August 1st.

So, where does that leave our awesome community to ask questions? Well, there are a few places we want to engage with you. For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality. If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers. And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

Help us come up with some UX Best Practices

There has been a lot of discussion about UX Best Practices as of late in the HoloDevelopers Slack group. Since there are not currently any real good guidelines, we are going to try our hand at creating some. If you are interested in being part of the conversation, please come join us. http://holodevelopersslack.azurewebsites.net

  • From Graphical Interface to "GraSphical Interface". This is one of the major transformation for Digital world.. This will take time and a lots of churning to reach the destination if there is one.

Think about all the tools mankind developed in the past thousand years. If we go to Home depot or Kitchen tools store or electrical shops ort heavy machinery handling or cranes or shipping cargos handling or railway yards or gas drilling machineries or gas pipelines, there are so many varieties of tools, big and small. Think about all these objects in holograms in AR, can we do/handle them as in 2D monitors? I may be complicating it and it so mind-boggling.

There may be a simple solution like a mouse and keyboard which all of us today can not think of.

  • Jesse Good Luck!!
