Coordinates based on a frameofreference/anchor, in Unity 3D

I've installed the holokit cause it seems like the correct way. But I'm not sure how to access the device API or so it says. It seems completely different than creating these on a UWP 2D application. Any pointers anyone?

I basically need an anchor that I can place that has a direction so I can place holograms inside the 3D environment but with coordinates based on that anchor/frameofreference.
Any pointers in the right way would greatly be appreciated.
