Best use for Hold Gesture?

Hi all,

I understand good use cases for the tap, navigation, and manipulation gestures. For example, tap is like a mouse select. Navigation is good for scrolling. Manipulation is useful for moving or resizing holograms in 3D space.

I feel you need to hold before doing a navigation or manipulation gesture but it's not very useful on it's own. Any thoughts?

  • Here are a couple of ideas.
    1. I want to pick up my hologram and carry it across the room. Moving it that far with precision using just Manipulation would be difficult. Instead, I can tap+hold my hologram, walk to the vicinity where I want to put it and release.
    2. I want to see a hologram that is being obscured by another hologram. I can tap+hold the obscuring hologram and release when I'm done observing the obscured hologram.
