HoloToolkit and HoloToolkit-Unity
Hi,
I have two questions:
1. So far i haven't fully understand the difference between the two. I'd appreciate if someone can explain me that.
2. Is it recommended to import the entire package even if I don't use all its assets\resources? Is there an option to import only the needed?
Thanks,

If you are using Unity3D then use the Unity one and copy the holoToolkit folder from Assets into your own assets folder: https://github.com/Microsoft/HoloToolkit-Unity/tree/master/Assets

Actually, I don't recommend the copy the assets folder approach at all. I much prefer and recommend the create a custom package and import approach. This does allow you to only bring in certain parts of the package as well, like you asked about. Details about how to do either approach can be found in my blog post here - https://hololensjournal.com/2016/09/14/jumpstarting-your-hololens-project-with-the-holotoolkit-installing-the-holotoolkit/
The HoloToolkit can support development outside of the Unity environment. Specifically the Sharing Service can be ported to other platforms, other than the HoloLens as well.
The HoloToolkit-Unity is specific to development in Unity 3d.

I understand this and saw it here https://github.com/Microsoft/HoloToolkit-Unity/blob/master/GettingStarted.md, but if all I want is the cursor from HoloToolKit, I can't use the described Export\Import, because of the dependencies.
So basically the only way is to first see all dependencies for object and Export only the dependencies?
Ok, you got my attention. What other platforms I can use it except of Unity. DirectX?
yes and Xamaren
