Hello everyone.

The Mixed Reality Forums here are no longer being used or maintained.

There are a few other places we would like to direct you to for support, both from Microsoft and from the community.

The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.

For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.

If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.

And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

Control Scenes and Interactions via a separate app (MVC, Win 10)

Anyone tried to build a windows 10 or web app that would be able interact with an application running on hololens?

I've thought of a couple different ways but wondering if there are any best practices or lessons learned.

Our use case is that we want to use HoloLens (5-10 of them) to do a group presentation. I want to use a 'controller app' for the presenter to be able to control the experience of the other users wearing HoloLenses.

I know at Build16 we saw a few demos where this was happening via surfaces (assuming it's a windows 10 app) but haven't seen anything since on how this interaction can work.

Unity 2D app with the same Sharing libraries was the first thing that jumped to our mind...not sure if we're way off though.

Thanks in advance!
