I am not sure if this has been answered already - but I am wondering if there are any existing Apps (i.e. downloadable from the App store) that support the sharing service? I would like to get a feel for how this works before building our own application.

I think there is no such app available on Store, but you can download app from Holograms 240 - https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/holographic/holograms_240 and Download the files required by the project. Then you have to install a service , run the service and run the project on 2 HoloLenses or Emulator & HoloLens to view the app.
