Sending Data via Bluetooth to Smartphone

Hey all,
I couldn't find anything useful on the web so I'm asking this question here. Is it possible to pair the Hololens with a smartphone (not windows phone) and send and receive arbitrary data to/from it (e.g. the microphone stream).
I'm trying to do that in Unity3D.

On Working with Accessories it says:
"Bluetooth audio devices such as speakers and headsets may appear as available in the Settings app, but are not supported to be used with Microsoft HoloLens as an audio endpoint."
"Bluetooth-enabled phones and PCs are not supported to be paired and used for file transfer."

I'm not sure if those limitations apply to my case because my device is a smartphone and not an audio device and is not used for file transfer but rather for transfer of "a stream of floats" from the mic input.
