Hello everyone.

We have decided to phase out the Mixed Reality Forums over the next few months in favor of other ways to connect with us.

The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.

The plan between now and the beginning of May is to clean up old, unanswered questions that are no longer relevant. The forums will remain open and usable.

On May 1st we will be locking the forums to new posts and replies. They will remain available for another three months for the purposes of searching them, and then they will be closed altogether on August 1st.

So, where does that leave our awesome community to ask questions? Well, there are a few places we want to engage with you. For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality. If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers. And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

  • Thanks @HoloSheep, Please let me know the exact procedure to do it. I've tried but it's not working.

  • @Jones

Which step are you having problems with?
Are you getting any errors along the way?
What behavior are you seeing that is working and what behavior are you seeing that is not?

  • Thanks @HoloSheep, I can import a FBX object into unity and can preview it in Microsoft Hololens, But the 3D box like for other default holograms and action grams is not working. Please help.

  • @Jones
Can you explain what you mean by "the 3D box"?
Do you maybe have screen shots of an example of the 3D box and another screen shot of what your app is doing?

  • Thanks @HoloSheep! Actually, I'm trying to develop something similar to this

I want to Move, rotate, scale 3d objects inside Hololens. Thanks you once again.

  • @Jones

At this point each app pretty much implements its own set of interactions and user interface. The Holographic Academy sessions will step you through some of the basics on creating experiences that include some of these features.

However, there is no "out of the box" functionality that will give you things like a selection box around your 3D object. You will need to design and build the UI for your application to incorporate such features.

For Move, Rotate and Scale the Holograms 211 is a good tutorial for learning manipulation of your objects, however you may want to start at the beginning and work your way through all of the tutorials as they do provide you the details and exact procedures to complete each session that it sounds like you might be looking for.
