How can I reproduce the smooth tag-a-long seen in the Holographic Remoting Player app

Microsoft's Holographic Remoting Player app employes a smooth tag-a-long type main display. I'm trying to reproduce this feature in my own app. I have used the Tagalong & Simpletagalong scripts from the HoloToolKit in Unity3d, but have as yet been unable to come close to the Remoting Player's performance/look and feel.

The performance & look & feel is the following:

  • In the Microsoft app the on-screen text moves flicker free when you change your gaze at any speed. Using Unity there is an obvious flicker while changing your gaze quickly.

  • The limits top, bottom, left & right are much smaller in the Microsoft app. Meaning you turn your head a lot less before the tag-a-long kicks in (there is much less overlap of the main text area outside of the camera's view). Using the scripts in Unity I have no bee able to mimic the MS apps behavior.

Any ideas out there how this can be done using Unity3d?
