I am sure we will have much better entertainment experience with hololens than 3D tv.
Funny you should mention this, I was wondering the same however since looking into it further and having used the Hololens I don't think that its really something that its aimed for, I believe the sort of effect you are after you would want to be fully immersed using a VR headset not the Hololens.
I am interested to see what developers come up with, Imagine watching a 101 Dalmatians and their all in your front room watching with you!
I am used to a relatively big screen (projector, think 3 meter diagonal screen) I tried to watch 2D movies and it does not come close to a really big screen. also, I prefer to lean back and resting my head, which is not too comfortable wearing HL. so my verdict - not a key scenario.
Does anyone know if there is a 3d video content player in development. I read somewhere on the internet that the UWP of VLC may work on HoloLens in the future. Wondering if once can pipe right eye left eye video directly somehow? Perhaps through the API...
The resolution won't be great but something like this is possible and will probably get developed (and may already be underway).
I'd expect the ability to record your own 3D video and play it back to be a no-brainer feature to try to include, if present constraints permit. Even a minute of that could be super.
And no one will ever use such a feature for porn.
