On the HoloLens, the real world view is the "real world" seen through the see through lens of the HoloLens display. The real world is the analog view that you would normally observer by looking directly at the real world and the Holograms are digital content that are mixed into that real world view.

Some of the upcoming Windows Holographic mixed reality VR accessories or the Project Alloy merged reality headsets are primarily VR devices that are expected to bring in Digital versions or parts of the real world into a Digital VR first experience. On those platforms you might be able to get creative with the imagery of the real world from the cameras and sensors on those devices to create Zoom In and Zoom Out views of the real world, but at this point in time HoloLens is a Reality first device as opposed to a Virtual first device.
