Unity Play Mode with Holographic Remoting not working due to Windows Version

Hello, I'm trying to get Unity Play mode to work as explained in https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/holographic/unity_play_mode, but when I open the Holographic Emulation in windows I don't get any option, just the message "You must be running Windows build 14318 or later to use Holographic Simulation or Remoting".

I'm running Unity 5.5.1f1 with Windows 10 Pro, and the OS Build from the about screen indicates 14393.693. I've run windows update manually until it said no updates were available, and the problem still persist. Has anyone else had this?

  • Hello, I get the same error message. I'm running Unity 5.5.2f1 with Win10 Enterprise Version:1511 Build: 10586.0. The Hololens Emulator within Visual Studio is working properly, so the problem shouldn't be caused by Hyper-V. Could it have something to do with the windows group policies or the admin restrictions?

  • Okay, I got the sollution. Windows Enterprise won’t update your Windows Verision to 1607 through clicking on „Search for Updates“. You need to contact the it-department of your company. An administrator has to install the newest build. This has worked at least for me.
