Cannot connect to device portal over wifi

Hi There,

This is a new issue for me, I cannot seem to connect to the device portal tonight over wifi (through a web-browser). Using the IP address on the device under Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Advanced Options I receive this web-browser response:

This site can’t be reached
IP-Address took too long to respond.

I first noticed the issue when I tried deploying an app to the device this evening and it failed to do so through VS2015. Any help would be appreciated. I have reset the device and the ip address is correct for connecting over wifi.

I am able to connect to the device portal locally via USB while plugged in to http://127.0.0.1:10080. Oddly though I am not able to connect via my desktop however on a second laptop I was able to connect locally.

This site can’t be reached
127.0.0.1 refused to connect.
Try:
Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

Thanks,
Jason

Fixed the issue. Turns out another one of my Microsoft accounts connected to the device. By removing the 2nd account and restarting the device my issue was resolved. Hope this helps whoever may run into a similar issue.

  • Greetings!
Can you please be more percise of what you did to solve the issu? I have the same error, and I think the cause is the same. But Im not sure which accounts you handled.

  • Hi @MEDIT, from what I recall, I believe I removed the offending account directly from the control panel settings of the operating system on the HoloLens itself.
