Connect to SignalR through hubs

edited February 2017 in Questions And Answers

Is it possible to connect to a SignalR server through hubs using Unity 5.5/5.6.0b3?

So far I've gathered that Unity uses subset of .net 2.0 and it sets the project settings in visual studio to 3.5. SignalR framework uses .net 4.0 (https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.aspnet.signalr.client(v=vs.100).aspx).
There are some downgrades like https://github.com/jenyayel/SignalR.Client.20 however this creates several CS1061, CS0117 and CS7069 errors when I try to build. Another is https://github.com/oising/Nivot.SignalR.Client.Net35 which seems to use async funcationality which didn't comply with unity .net restrictions.

I'm hoping this is a valid question as it seems to have me stumped. I can also add that I'm fairly new to this kind of programming and it's been great so far until I tried to connect to the SignalrR server
