is there an open scource app that plays videos based off user taking action in the real world

hello, I am new to development of ANY kind and have just created a single floating orb for the HoloLens... pretty impressive I know. I am trying to create an app that has a simple tool box that can place holo buttons(or something like that) on real world objects to play instructional videos on that real world object. my question is... is there any open source apps that would have this basic functionality to build upon? I thank you for your time.
