cannot connect hololens to companion app

have problem connecting this pair of HL to companion app. tried with another pair and working fine. below are settings used:

  • developer mode (on)
  • device portal (on)
  • both HL & computer on same network
  • HL & computer (paired)
  • HL can connect to windows device portal
  • re-downloaded companion app
    restarts and updates does not help. hope that I don't have to factory reset the device. appreciate any help. thx
