Hello everyone.

The Mixed Reality Forums here are no longer being used or maintained.

There are a few other places we would like to direct you to for support, both from Microsoft and from the community.

The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.

For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.

If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.

And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

Never Timeout when device is plugged in.

edited March 2017 in Questions And Answers

Please allow the device to not timeout (i.e. one of the options on Home settings at the bottom being.. 'Never'), at least when the device is plugged in. We are using the hololenst as a display only through holographic remoting in unity and experiment subjects are resting their head on a chin-rest. It's very frustrating when half-way through the experiment the hololens decides to turn off because it has not been moving.

    @jubei,
    Thank you for your feedback. Can you please submit your suggestion using the Feedback Hub application on your HoloLens?

    Thanks!

    @jubei - You might do a search through the forum posts. Someone was able to set the timeout via the REST API so that it does not time out at all...
