Is it possible to use an external depth sensor to build the mesh in a Hololens App?

I'm working on a project where I need a detailed mesh of the location that I am looking at. Since accuracy is important and the Hololens mesh density is comparatively low, I was planning on using an external sensor such as Intel Realsense or others. Is there a method to integrate the data received from such a sensor to build a mesh inside the Hololens?
