Hello everyone.

We have decided to phase out the Mixed Reality Forums over the next few months in favor of other ways to connect with us.

The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.

The plan between now and the beginning of May is to clean up old, unanswered questions that are no longer relevant. The forums will remain open and usable.

On May 1st we will be locking the forums to new posts and replies. They will remain available for another three months for the purposes of searching them, and then they will be closed altogether on August 1st.

So, where does that leave our awesome community to ask questions? Well, there are a few places we want to engage with you. For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality. If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers. And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

DEP0001: Unexpected Error: -2147024809 (HoloLens Emulator)

I have a Unity/C# application designed for Universal Windows Platform.

When I convert the program to the HoloLens, everything compiles but I get this error in deployment to the HoloLens emulator:

Deploying to Phone Internal Storage…
Creating a new clean layout…
Copying files: Total 90 mb to layout…
Checking whether required frameworks are installed…
Registering the application to run from layout…
DEP0001: Unexpected Error: -2147024809
============== Build: 3 succeeded, 0 failed, 0 up-to-date, 0 skipped ===============
============== Deploy: 0 succeeded, 1 failed, 0 skipped ===============

The same error appears whether I try to install with the Debug/x86 setting or the Release/x86 setting. I have uninstalled and re-installed the HoloLens emulator multiple times.

I am able to get the program to run, but it would be nice if Visual Studio would point to the area that is giving the error.

  • When you say convert are you just picking Hololens as the target in Build settings?

    Did you try wiping the deployment folder? It may still have some old properties in there.
