Holograms with no tracking

Can I just have holograms be created in relation to where I start the app, and choose to ignore all spatial mapping information?

    @TetraTalon,

    That is precisely what Holograms 101 implements prior to the chapter on Spatial Mapping.

    In the Holograms 101 example, the origami stage hologram will appear 2 meters in front of the user.

    Thanks!
    David

    Just place it 2 units in front of the camera in unity.

    It was my impression that the Hololens would still try to map during this time. It just wouldn't affect that particular game object.
