Opening a scene in a new window

edited July 2017 in Questions And Answers

Hi experts,

I am currently building an application in Unity that scans QR-codes and displays information afterwards. I display that information on a panel in a new scene. However, this scene is loaded without any borders etc. The QR-scanner doesn't have a window like that and also shouldn't have one, but I want the information scene to be in a window like the one in the image below.

Does anyone have any tips, suggestions to help me on my way?

Kinds regards
Matthijs

I think you will need to open a second app rather than a new scene.

You could have multiple windows in an immersive scene but it appears you are not going for an immersive scene as you want windows from outside of your app open like Skype.

You should be able to open a second app from your app. I don't have the code handy but one of our devs worked on a prototype of doing that.
