Hello everyone.

We have decided to phase out the Mixed Reality Forums over the next few months in favor of other ways to connect with us.

The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.

The plan between now and the beginning of May is to clean up old, unanswered questions that are no longer relevant. The forums will remain open and usable.

On May 1st we will be locking the forums to new posts and replies. They will remain available for another three months for the purposes of searching them, and then they will be closed altogether on August 1st.

So, where does that leave our awesome community to ask questions? Well, there are a few places we want to engage with you. For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality. If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers. And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

Does Unity 2017.2.b7 solve the VS 15.3 update issue ?

So I heard the latest update of VS 15.3 break MR build in unity and it was fixed in latest unity beta ? Can someone confirm ? I am planning to update my VS too but don't want to get into breakage mess.
Thank you.

  • Yes, I can confirm it does work together, I downloaded both yesterday

    Thank you Sir!

  • After going through some amount of frustrations of installing /Uninstalling different combinations of Unity/VS, the only one that I was able to get it working was Unity 2017.1.0p5 and VS 2017 15.4.4 as of November 11 2017. There are so many thing that can go wrong in this wide range of tools that changes every hour , it may be really hard to confirm a right combination.

    Hi @Karthik
The correct version which is tested and uses well with the MR Portal for HP WMR Headset Unity 2017.2.0p1-MRTP4. Even VS 2017 Community 15.4.1 works, but you need to set the build to Universal Windows and Set to .NET in the project, the default is now IL2CPP.
