Hololens and Skype
I have a question regarding connecting to Skype with my hololens... currently my hololens is not able to call or receive calls! I know that it is connected to my skype account because when i enter a new contact on my computer it does show up on the hololens. However if someone Skyped me only my computer will ring. Nothing from my hololens? And outgoing calls from my hololens just ring and ring.
Any suggestions about how to fix this?

@DocStrange I was tasked with demonstrating Skype on HoloLens as well. I honestly got every version of Skype I could get my hands on and tried to make calls on it. The only one I got to work was the Classic Skype. The HoloLens plugin works fine. The first time you make a call to the computer it will ask you to download it.
We also had a problem with getting Skype to work over our network due to firewall blocking it. Make sure you can make a normal Skype call over the network as well (i.e. Mobile/Desktop to Mobile/Desktop)
You can get the Classic Skype by going to Skype.com and click the download button. From there if you already have regular Skype installed you should see somewhere on the page where you can download Classic Skype.

I am having the same issue. When on my windows 10 computer running Skype for Windows 10 (ver. 12.7.597.0) I cannot make or receive calls with my hololens, however when I installed Classic Skype running skype vers. 7.40.0.103 on my windows 10 computer I was able to make and receive calls with the hololens.
You are only able to make calls to a computer that has Classic Skype installed. It will not work for mobile, web, or skype preview. It is only a beta after all not a full release product.

Thanks for the information! I've had a huge problem demonstrating Skype on HoloLens and have had to terminate a project due to the problem (and no response from Microsoft). I'll see if I can get the classic Skype - but is the HoloLens plugin still available?

There are people who have encountered this issue named sorry, we couldn’t connect to Skype and it seems irritating. 1- Checking Skype Heartbeat: You can do it by opening Skype, tap Help and then Heartbeat. Here you will see the Skype’s system status in the opened web page. In case there is something wrong then you’ll get the message but in case you don’t see a message then wait for Skype technicians to resolve this error from their side.
**2- Upgrading Skype to the newest version: **
Open Skype, tap Help and then the option of Check for updates. Tap the options of Update Classic Skype or Try the new Skype according to your requirement. You can also visit Skype’s official page to download the newest version.
3- Refreshing network settings:
Tap Windows key and X altogether and tap Command Prompt. When encouraged to give administrator permission, press the option of Yes. Then write the given instructions one by one ipconfig /release; ipconfig /renew; netsh winsock reset; netsh int ip reset; ipconfig /flushdns; ipconfig /registerdns; netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled; netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled; netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled; netsh int tcp show global and reboot your system.
