Hololens App: Is it Possible to Launch a Unity app from another Unity App

Hi, Is it possible to launch another Unity application from within a Unity application? If I Click a button in one application it would launch another application that is installed in Hololens. I would be very grateful if I could get example code on these specific requirement.
Thank You,

  • Hi Sreehari,

On Hololens, it is not possible to launch another Unity application from within a Unity application at this time.

Thanks for the suggestion and I will forward it on to the product team.

  • This is actually possible as long as you know the URI associated with the Unity app you can use launch URI to launch another Unity App.

  • Here's the regular UWP way to do it: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/uwp/api/windows.system.launcher

That said, some apps like Skype don't seem to work -- so the launcher may behave differently on HoloLens.
