Difference between newest Microsoft mixed reality, and hololens

Hello, I wanted to ask you what are advantages in newest generation of mixed reality agains hololens that came out in 2015?
I found an article about mixed reality, and I want to try it! I used hololens tho.

  • Hey, @ian991

This article covers the VR (immersive) range of Mixed Reality, while HoloLens is the holographic device. Microsoft came up with the term Mixed reality to create a unified platform to develop for both the immersive and the holographic (and who knows what comes out next) devices. The goggles reviewed in the article are all non-transparent, full-immersion VR headsets, unlike HoloLens, which is transparent with holographic content superposed on top.

    Hope this helps.
