LaunchUriAsync not working in WinMR

I'm trying to use LaunchUriAsync to launch a different app (using that app's registered URI scheme) from within my own app.

In a test (flat) UWP app, I created a button that calls LaunchUriAsync. This works great on the desktop (and phone, for that matter), but when I open the app within the Windows Mixed Reality Cliff House, the button does nothing. Why is this the case?
