Can't read my USB 3.0 port as a USB 3.0 port

I got an Acer AH101-D8EY headset but I can't even get through set up. I'm only getting a "Make sure the USB cable is plugged into the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 port." etc. message. The thing is that it IS plugged into that port. I only have one 3.0 port, and no 3.0 devices to test with. I can't figure out what's wrong. I have a CyberpowerPC desktop running Windows 10 that is up to date. When I plug in the headset, it appears as one of the "USB Composite Devices" (not sure which one) under USB Controllers, and "HoloLense Sensors" under USB Device. I've spent hours looking for a solution and haven't found one that works. I don't know what other information I need to give. Please help. Thanks.

For reliable HMD operation, USB must supply a minimum of 900mA and HMDs work best with USB controllers running the Microsoft USB driver stack. You can refer to steps here to update the driver.

And the HMD Connectivity Troubleshooting flowcharts might also help you.
