Surround Sound Disabled by WMR?

Curious if anyone can explain this, please. I have the WMR setup in my theatre, which has a 7.1 speaker setup. The Windows audio toolbar shows 7.1 is being used. The moment I start the Mixed Reality Portal, the audio "mode" switches to non-surround, Headphones, and all other audio options in that toolbar menu are gone. Audio still goes through my speakers, but why is the surround sound disabled / not an option?

I have the Use Headphone Audio setting disabled in the MR Portal settings.

Windows 10, HP Headset, 32 GB RAM, nVidia 1070, Acer Predator

Try this to see if it helps,

enable Windows Sonic by right-clicking the Volume icon in the taskbar (bottom right) and hover over spacial sound then select windows sonic or if available select Dolby Atmos for home theater.

Not sure if that will help, but its worth a shot
