Hello everyone.

The Mixed Reality Forums here are no longer being used or maintained.

There are a few other places we would like to direct you to for support, both from Microsoft and from the community.

The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.

For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.

If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.

And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

The Holo Pimp - try Hololens before you buy it

The Hololens is an amazing device. You have to see it to believe it. So why not try it out first before buying it?

I am offering demos of the Hololens for your evaluation. I can meet you onsite at your company or at a location in westside Los Angeles. You can play with all the apps on the store for as long as you want. Just book my time at an hourly rate.

Oh boy, knew someone would do this. While I'm sure you can find plenty of people to pay you, think also about how much of a delight it is to be able to show someone a holographic experience for the first time. Unless this person has spent ages in VR or similar technologies, in their eyes you are pretty much a wizard. I've been lucky enough to demo to hundreds of people at work and it never gets old to see people's eyes light up as they discover a world-locked hologram for the first time, fight alien invaders in their living room or solve a crime mystery in a mixed reality world. I think one of the things that unites us as early adopters is our desire to see this type of computing paradigm grow. You can do that by showing the world of HoloLens (and related technologies!) to others whenever you get the chance, and I suspect you will have a very good time doing so.

  • where are you from, sir? I would like to try it

  • Nevermind. Just saw it's LA

  • Is it permitted by MS to charge for demos of the Hololens? If so I'd be tempted to order a personal one tomorrow.
