I would like to know, how to communicate b/w two hololens which are remotely placed ?
I have followed many threads which are categorized under sharing tag but couldn't find a suitable answer. All that i was able to find out was that one can use Azure / UNET for communicating remotely. Any help will be highly appreciated .
Thank you.

transfer simple data as of now ....like the transform etc . But in asynchronous collaboration we might a lot other stuff.. which i haven't thought about now :P.You can use SignalR but you need a owned server application.
A good alternative is Firebase by google. I succesfully used it in a simple chat application. Firebase implements the publishing and subscribe design pattern.5 -

Hi, I am writing in this thread so that any one who is looking for remote connection of HoloLens doesn't get stuck without any answers. I basically spent hours searching the net as in how to achieve this. Hope this helps.
Firstly make sure that u follow all the instructions mentioned in the 240 sharing course. Then create a sharing service in an open n/w (issue which many of you guys will not face..:P) and try connecting both the HoloLens to the same IP. For testing u can use their sample application.
For any further doubts, u can ask questions in this thread.
Thanks:)7 -

Yes, I can confirm it does work non-locally. We ran the sharing service on a server with a static IP address and then devices can connect to it anywhere using that IP. The main issue is making sure the firewall is open on ports used in sharing.

@ahillier can you provide any help regarding this. Any documentation or a hint as to how to achieve it ..?
What do you mean with "communicate"? Do you want to transfer simple data or want to share the holographic objects?

I am going through some tutorials in UNET from youtube. Will post here if i get stuck during development. Thnx !!

You said, that you use the SharingService from the HoloToolkit. Does this also work non-localy? If yes, how?
