The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.

For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.

If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.

And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

adding shadows to objects is missing

Hi,
there is no shadows for the objects.
this breaks the quality of the videos.
I'm not looking for a detailed shadow which follows the floor, but just a simple blured shadow in option.

for example I use the dinosaur, but he is floating in the video due to the lack of shadows.

Comments

  • I was just setting up a scene in realize the shadows are going as well. Has there been any updates of this? I no longer find it is an option in the UI

    @Jerome

    The color presentation with HoloLens is inherently additive.
    Currently, there is no way to subtract lights from the scene you see.

    You cannot hide totally a real object behind a Hologram or Actiongram.
