Unable to connect via WiFi after update to Windows 10.0.14393.448

Hi,

I just updated my HoloLens to Windows 10.0.14393.448 but now I am no longer able to connect to the device portal via WiFi. It will only work via USB.

I'm also unable to ping the HoloLens IP address, but I never tried that before the update, so I'm not sure if that is supposed to work.

HoloLens Companion is also unable to connect.

Anyone ideas?

Thanks,
Mark

  • Seems to be working for me. Are you connecting to the internet ok from the Hololens? Are you sure you are on the same network / mask (although it would be strange for it to change after update).

This is probably similar to this post

Some HoloLens Devices need a network reset Unpair All. Some seem to need a full factory reset, but first of reset/power down your wireless router first.

You CANNOT ping your HoloLens device there is no ping port responder service, the networking is like that of a Windows Lumina Phone

  • Download the latest Wi-Fi drivers from the manufacturer website and install it after that:

    1. Unplug the Wireless Router from the power socket.
    2. Wait approximately one minute.
    3. Plug the wireless router back into the** power socket.**
    4. Reboot the Windows 10 device and try connecting again to the Wi-Fi network to see if it works.

Hope doing this will solve the Wi-Fi issue.
