Sharing Service as a service

Just wanted to post that you can run the sharing service as a windows service by using the command {path}\SharingService.exe -install

I've got it running in an Azure VM and it works pretty well. A little latency but not terrible. Good enough for demos and POCS.

  • What it exactly this service does ? Can you use it for other codes?
I have found that Holoemulator cannot find some endpoints, When you just ping the device there is no answer from the Hololens. It s like having an internal firewall. I just thought maybe using this to enable some ports..

  • @nash sounds great. Could you please share some of the steps on how to get this up and running?

    Thanks,
    Alex
