Is it possible to cast my laptop's screen on hololens?

chiddaanchiddaan
edited December 2016 in Questions And Answers

I know that it's possible to cast the user's point of view on other screen, but what if

  1. I want to cast my laptop's screen on hololens? (the other way around)

  2. Can I connect a video stream of some camera(from a http ip address) on to hololens?

  3. If yes, can I map the movement of user's head to navigate camera left and right if the camera has capability to move left and right?

I am at a very initial stage of my project, so just trying to know about possibilities.

Not looking for exact solution on "how to", just the possibilities for "can we".

    @chiddaan,

    There's no built-in way to do this with the HoloLens SDK. It sounds like a cool project and you might be able to pull it off with your own custom streaming solution and some servos to control the camera angle. Good luck!

    Hi @james_ashley

    Can you suggest the best computer system I should buy for developing applications that would satisfy all the hardware requirements?

    I am a graduate student and I am starting my development work soon. So I need to know which is best out there.

    Thanks.

    The Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book are really nice for doing on the go HoloLens development. I use a Surface Pro, myself.
