Hello everyone.

The Mixed Reality Forums here are no longer being used or maintained.

There are a few other places we would like to direct you to for support, both from Microsoft and from the community.

The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.

For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.

If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.

And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

It would be cool to open links written on paper by tapping them.

In title. Not sure how hard this would be to do, but does anyone else see a link on a brochure in public? I think this would be a pretty cool feature, maybe not super important, but nonetheless interesting

You could use Cognitive Services to perform OCR, see https://dev.projectoxford.ai/docs/services/56f91f2d778daf23d8ec6739/operations/56f91f2e778daf14a499e1fc

My experimentation thus far is the CS OCR works poorly, at least on the text in the images I've submitted. In fact it's never worked 100% correctly for me even once ... but maybe it will get better.

There is a sample in urhosharp samples with this service already coded up.

This can be done with AR so of course this can be done for the HoloLens by using Vuforia... I have been working with them for a while back testing their Beta version that interfaces with Unity and then the HoloLens. Just recently they launched a new full version... Your desire will work very well with that system. So, you could use a piece of paper as the target image and when looked at a 3d model will appear, then you could click on the model and then any sort of link can open...
