unity 5.5. - deploy direct to device in build settings over USB from Unity?

edited January 2017 in Discussion

It looks like that in the Build Settings drop down menu, there is actually a target device: HoloLens. However, it seems that unlike build to iOS or Android, it still does not build straight to device over USB (still have to open the generated .sln in Visual Studio to remote/wifi deploy)

What does setting it to HoloLens do? Is there a way to USB deploy instead of over remote?

  • So, they Build and Run on setting is what you would need to display the HoloLens to do what you are expecting the Target Device field to do. I'm not actually sure what effect the Target Device has or is intended to have....

  • I think its just the difference between setting the target platform for the built project to by Holographic vs Universal.
