The Mixed Reality Forums here are no longer being used or maintained.
There are a few other places we would like to direct you to for support, both from Microsoft and from the community.
The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.
For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.
If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.

Next generation OF HOLOLENS
Good moorning ,
I would like to share my ideas:
this product have a x86 built CPU and a so call "HPU"
I desume that HPU could be a FPGA.
This product need to be
a) 3d holographic drawing IN REALTIME
b) spatial mapping IN REALTIME
c) 3d object recongnition IN REALTIME (not only obstacle detection) (customer demand)
I desume power of process is really a bottleneck even if i didn't tried it yet.
I immagine that in 2/3 years you need a new version in order to be
1) smaller
2) lighter
3) resolution of glasses doubled with doubled FOV
4) speed of cameras an depth sensors
5) quicker in point (A,B,C)
6) less consumption
7) new sensors (thermal measurement)
Everyhing would be possible if CPU/GPU/FPGA would be in a unique chip.
Windows IOT core should start to support Intel Altera Arria Devices ARM&FPGA
and the next generation of CHIP and Intel CPU X86 + Altera FPGA + Intel GPU.
2) it would be the first high level programming solution for this kind of component.
I suggest to integrate intel OpenCL library in windows SDK
In Order to program FPGA.
3) For FPGA it's suggested to provide an already done personality of the FPGA (like HPU).
it's suggested to give to the customer the opportunity to change the firmware of the FPGA
mainly for custom peripheral and cooprocessing allocation resources.

LM

Let me add other:
1) it would be interesting if EEG Wave sensors will be used.
May be initially to remove some gestures commands.
2) I would suggest a joint venture with a company like OAKLEY.
My Idea Would be to have a unique CURVED GLASS.
Displaying datas on a curved Glass i think is possible Once you have

LM
Hope to be usefull to Mister MS
