Feedback & Request: USB Port on HoloLens

Hello HoloLens team,

Currently HoloLens does not seem to recognize USB HID signals being fed through the USB port. For example, if I connect a USB Mouse to the USB port, HoloLens does not recognize any clicks or mouse motion signals. Interestingly, it will recognize clicks and mouse motion signals if they are sent wirelessly by a Bluetooth computer mouse.

Making the USB port fully functional (to recognize at least the HID signals) will allow makers to interface their prototypes/devices with the HoloLens without having to build in power and wireless connectivity into their prototypes, thereby helping build innovative devices in the HoloLens ecosystem faster. It will also help people to select things without using the tap gesture or the clicker.

In the interim, it will be great if you can provide a USB driver to load on the HoloLens so as to recognize the USB HID signals.

Thanks.
