Hololens and the Mixed Reality Portal
Does anyone know if the Hololens will be usable to explore the Mixed Reality Portal demo in the new Insiders Build of Windows 10?

@Ash Currently using Insider version build 15055, will only use Acer Windows Mixed Reality Headset. To get access this device you had to register on 1st Jan 2017.
Your best route is to select the Developer Simulation Setup in Mixed Reality Portal.
Uninstall the original version restart the PC then you will see the correct version installed.
The reason you cannot use HoloLens is that HoloLens is untethered and therefore a superior product, Windows Mixed Reality Headset is tethered.
The MR Portal is not the same code as its tethered as it a Windows 10 subset, heavily reliant on the power of your graphics card which need to support a minimum of Direct X12.
Currently you cannot load Windows Store Mixed Reality/HoloLens apps, which you can in the HoloLens emulator. This will change when the final version comes out in October 2017
There isn't any Gesture support as its Occluded, The displays are 1440 x 1440 so the simulator graphics is a reasonable representation of quality, HoloLens is 5340 High Definition and that's shown in the HoloLens Emulator.
Currently looks like Windows Mixed Reality Headset will be used on Project Scorpion (Xbox Upgrade)
There is not currently any development SDK debug generally available, but its game orientated
Unity even 5.6 does not support Acer Windows Mixed Reality HMD in the Player like HoloLens
You cannot use any version of Vuforia namely 6.* with Mixed Reality Portal yet. Took many months for Vuforia to get HoloLens official support
