Deployment to emulator fails (DEP6957)

I'm trying to deploy a project to the HoloLens emulator and this error has just come up.

>DEP6957 : Failed to connect to device 'ip address here' using Universal Authentication. Please verify the correct remote authentication mode is specified in the project debug settings. 0x8007274C: The network event being waited on triggered an error.

I put this error output into Google and followed this post However, even after doing this it still fails.

I'm developing on Windows 10 and have all the relevant SDK's, so what else can I do to resolve this error? Has anyone tried anything else that's worked?

Happy coding!

  • I have had no success deploying over Wifi to my Hololens. I have been able to deploy using USB though. I'm using VS2017 Community Edition.
