When you have the emulator open, have a look at the tool bar at the right side. Does it have the little man with his arms in the air selected or the keyboard selected?

The man means it will simulate human input with hand gestures, the keyboard means it will send through the actual keyboard presses to type something.

    Thanks ShayneKiekebosch for your reply.
I tried selecting both the little man and the keyboard, but only these two buttons are not enabled in the tool bar.
All other buttons in tool bar ; zoom button, tools are enabled and working.
