Poor mixed reality capture quality?

Hey,

I'm trying to do a mixed reality capture of one of my apps and the quality is far poorer as compared to other apps that come in built (like the Holograms app). I've attached an example of a capture from my app and a capture of the Holograms app and the difference is quite stark. My holograms are fairly transparent whereas the Holograms app practically occlude the background (except when backlit). Both videos were taken in the exact same setting and position.

This is my app:

This is the Holograms app:

I have built my app in Unity, I'm using the Mobile/Diffuse shader on all my materials. Brightness on the Hololens is set to full. Any tips to achieve more solid holograms? Clearly the Holograms app is doing something that I am not.

I still think its just a matter of the lighting being different in the two videos. Can you post a screenshot or video of your app without facing a window?

The lighting is only different when I move in the end, otherwise both videos were captured in the same room, with the same lighting within the same minute. I actually got up and moved in the end just to show a comparison of the backlit Hologram app vs my hologram. I feel the backlit hologram looks like what my non backlit hologram looks like all the time.

Hey @mark_grossnickle I took another capture of a hologram from the actiongram app. As you can see it looks basically opaque - https://youtu.be/A8I0GSli5hg

I was hoping for a screenshot or video of YOUR app without facing a window.

Another thought could be a difference between flat objects and 3D? I don't know why it would be different offhand but check out the transparency on the actiongram window at the start of your video. It appears to be about as transparent as your 2D window.
