Acer headset - new revision?

I just got my Acer headset (from having attended Unity's Vision conference) and noticed something - it's not quite the same as the headset in past pictures.

The front just has the acer logo on the top (no windows 10 logo) and the bottom just says "Windows Mixed Reality" not "Mixed Reality Development Edition". There is a sticker on the top of it that says "Development Edition", but... That's got me wondering...

Is this actually the release hardware? Does anyone else have this version? Except for the sticker, this seems like it could be a new revision / the final release hardware.

If this is noteworthy, let me know, and I'll take some pictures of it to share.

  • What does the adjustment for the head strap look like? Pictures would be great.

  • The headstrap adjustment looks the same as the earlier version. Here's two pics, one of the front, and one of the "Developer Edition" sticker.

It's certainly very similar to the hp dev kit - the Acer might be slightly better - it's hard to compare though, with the cable swapping that needs to take place between comparisons. It's certainly very similar - though the facial interface on the HP is far superior to the Acer, unless you like having your nose pinched constantly.

  • Looks like maybe this is somewhere on the spectrum between the original and the newest release. The pictures I have seen of what seems to be the final design have a wheel adjustment on the headstrap. I know my developer edition and the one my buddy got are slightly different too. I think we may just be looking at some incremental changes.

Sorry, I should have grabbed a strap picture too. FWIW, it's button, not wheel, so yeah, clearly not the release version. Thanks for that link. :)
