Hello everyone.

The Mixed Reality Forums here are no longer being used or maintained.

There are a few other places we would like to direct you to for support, both from Microsoft and from the community.

The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.

For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.

If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.

And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

SteamVR & Window Mixed Reality color issues

Windows Mixed Reality Headsets with SteamVR.

Tested:
Acer
HP
Lenovo

All Windows Mixed Reality HMD's seem to limited color to 16-235 instead of 0-255.

Oculus CV1 with Oculus SDK and SteamVR also Limited color to 16-235

It seems that The HTC Vive is the only HMD that correctly displays 0-255.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? The image and content are greatly sacrificed with this happening. Wanted to know if anyone was aware of this issue.

Hi @The_Picard. Rather than asking you to make Windows Feedback
    There is now an entry
To the Mixed Reality these are ignored instead of cleaning.

see https://aka.ms/Jgf2ro and vote it up.

  • Don't seem to have access to the answer hub. Get an error when it goes to launch. Perhaps someone could provide a BBS dial-up number. That might be a better way to post issues than how it's setup currently. :)

  • Hi The_Picard,

This is a known issue with the NVidia Graphics Driver's default color settings. Please see this article for more information and a workaround.

I'll forward your feedback to the product team and NVidia to see if we can address this more broadly for WMR. Thanks

    Yang

  • That article link does not work. Tried that method when I first noticed the issues.
