Hello everyone.
The Mixed Reality Forums here are no longer being used or maintained.
There are a few other places we would like to direct you to for support, both from Microsoft and from the community.
The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.
For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.
If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.
And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

How do you pair multiple HoloLens so they see the same "space" and holograms in that space? Is that application specific or somehow facilitated by the OS?

The awesome people on the holographic academy team have put together a whole course around this. You can follow and break out the elements you need from this course: https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/holographic/holograms_240

It's application specific, however the HoloToolkit does have a sharing library to assist...
Where is the development documentation on code to make them work together?

That scenario was exactly what this year's Holographic Academy at Build walked through. @DonaS shares the links in the DIY thread in this forum that you can work through to see how it all works.
Basically, the HoloToolkit leverages a sharing library client that leverages a sharing library server that runs on a separate machine. The server coordinates the sharing of data between multiple HoloLens devices.
I think at one point we had 9 devices connected in our group to a single server. But I thought I saw somewhere in the documentation a warning that 5 or more devices in a small area might interfere with each other.

Do I need Commercial Headset edition for this or Developer Headset edition is enough?
@Artus, the difference between Commercial Headset and Developer headset is related to the ability to manage the device. So there are some packages for Windows that allow an admin to manage and deploy the devices. It also incudes warranty but doesn't prohibit the device's ability to communicate in context of this discussion.
